Terms of Use
Last updated: July 2, 2026
Welcome to VocaBlast. These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and VocaBlast ("we", "us", "the Service"). By creating an account or using vocablast.com in any way, you accept these Terms in full. If you do not agree with them, do not use the Service.
1. What VocaBlast is
VocaBlast is a personal vocabulary journal. You save words and, optionally, the context where you found them (text, links, or photos). The Service uses artificial intelligence ("AI") to generate definitions, examples, synonyms and related information, and offers practice and social features.
The Service is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". We may change, limit, suspend or discontinue any part of it (including AI features) at any time, without notice and without liability.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your country) to use the Service.
- You are responsible for your account, your password and everything done from your account.
- One person, one account. Do not create accounts by automated means, and do not share, sell or transfer an account.
- Information you provide must be accurate. Usernames that impersonate others, infringe rights or are offensive may be reclaimed or removed.
3. Acceptable use of the AI features
The AI features exist for one purpose only: helping you, personally, learn vocabulary. You agree that you will not:
- Use the AI features for any purpose other than personal vocabulary learning, or attempt to use the Service as a general-purpose AI, translation, OCR, or content-generation tool.
- Send automated, scripted, bulk or unreasonably frequent requests (bots, scrapers, scripts, API abuse), or attempt to bypass any rate limit or technical restriction.
- Attempt to manipulate the AI with injected instructions ("prompt injection"), or try to extract prompts, models, keys or other internals of the Service.
- Upload content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or that contains other people's personal data without their consent.
- Resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Service or its output.
- Interfere with the Service, probe or test its security, or access data or accounts that are not yours.
We may set, change and enforce usage quotas and rate limits at any time, silently and per account, to protect the Service and control costs. Usage that we consider excessive or anomalous may be throttled, rejected or treated as abuse, at our sole discretion.
4. Suspension and termination. Our discretion
We may suspend, restrict or permanently delete any account, at any time, with or without prior notice, with or without explanation, for any reason or for no reason, including (but not limited to) suspected violation of these Terms, suspected abuse of the AI features, cost or security concerns, or legal requirements. A mere suspicion of abuse, formed in good faith by us, is sufficient grounds.
If your account is deleted, your data (words, lists, photos, followers) may be permanently removed. We are not required to keep, export or return any data, and we accept no liability for its loss. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
5. Your content and licenses
- You keep ownership of the content you submit (words, notes, photos, links).
- You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt and display that content as needed to operate the Service, including sending it to third-party AI providers (for example Google Gemini) and other processors so the features can work.
- You are solely responsible for what you upload. Only upload photos and text you have the right to use. Short excerpts saved for personal study are your responsibility, not ours.
- If your profile is public or shared with followers, the content you save there is visible to others. Control this in your privacy settings.
6. AI output: no warranty
AI-generated content (definitions, examples, synonyms, pronunciations, titles and any other output) is produced automatically and may be wrong, incomplete, offensive or misleading. It is not advice of any kind. We do not review it and we do not warrant its accuracy. You use it at your own risk.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that data will not be lost.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, nor for loss of data, profits, goodwill or opportunities, arising from or related to your use (or inability to use) the Service. In any case, our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) 10 euros. You acknowledge the Service is free, so (a) will normally be zero.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms at any time by posting the new version on this page with a new date. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute shall be submitted exclusively to the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer law in your country provides otherwise.
